The Metropolitan Police Department reported that Morrell Ball, 32, was charged with felony destruction of property when he drove an SUV into into an office building less than one mile from the White House Friday evening.
The exact location of the accident was not given, but Mr. Ball hit a building in the central business district of the city. It is not known if anyone was injured in this accident, and officials say he intentionally drove into the building. The SUV was allegedly stolen as well.
According to the National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation Study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, driver error is responsible for more than 90 percent of serious traffic accidents.
