A 4-year-old girl who was riding without a seat belt was killed Saturday in an accident on Farm-to-Market Road 1936 at 42nd Street.

Priscilla Levario was a passenger in a westbound Chevrolet pickup driven by Carlos Levario, 29, when he collided with Michael Blake Helms, 21. who was also driving a Chevrolet pickup. The pickups collided in the intersection when one ran a red light at 10:35 p.m.and both overturned according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Mr. Helms and Priscilla died at the scene. Mr. Levario and his passenger Jessica Delgado, 27, were hospitalized at Medical Center Hospital. Mr. Levario was in critical condition while Ms. Delgado was in serious condition.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2008 more than 2.3 million reported intersection-related crashes, resulted in more than 7,770 fatalities and approximately 733,000 injuries.
