An incident with an unknown number of vehicles resulted in injury at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and East Six Forks Road Monday afternoon.

According to Raleigh-Wake County Emergency Services, an unidentified driver collided with another vehicle for unknown reasons around 1:20 p.m. It is unknown how many victims were injured or the extent of their injuries. Rescue personnel are treating the victims at the scene.

It is unclear if speed or weather played a role in the cause of this incident.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol reports that 650 accidents occur every day, including 350 with injury and four fatalities, on average.
