A motorcyclist died after crashing his motorcycle into a guardrail off Interstate 40 Thursday night.

According to North Carolina State Highway Patrol, 35-year-old Jason DeCarlo Webster of Garner was traveling westbound on his motorcycle around 10:10 p.m. when he lost control for unknown reasons and left the roadway. Mr. Webster then struck a guardrail.

Mr. Webster died at the scene. No one else was injured in the crash.

Troopers are conducting an ongoing investigation to determine the cause of this incident.

In 2008, motorcyclists accounted for 14 percent of total traffic fatalities, 17 percent of all occupant fatalities, and 4 percent of all occupants injured according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

    to the family of Jason, what we known him as TURN AND BURN, he will be missed dearly.     Grew up with him and his brothers on Martin St….So sorry to hear…he was a really good person. Last time I saw him was on six forks rd…He got out of his car in the hot to help my husband and I push my car off the road after it stalled…..never forget that good deed..Cindrella &Kenya….we knew him…
