The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department stated that a motorcyclist was killed on Saturday in an accident on Tramway Road near the Sandia Casino when he bike left the road. The accident happened at approximately 1 a.m. Saturday.

David Naasz, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene and was reportedly not wearing a helmet. No other vehicles were believed to be involved in this accident, but Mr. Naasz was traveling with a group of other motorcycles when the accident occurred. Officials are still investigating this accident.

According to the New Mexico Department of Public Safety, motorcycles were involved in 1,530 traffic accidents in 2008.
