Police say a Lowe’s delivery driver was killed in a crash between Albuquerque and Rio Rancho on Tuesday.

According to the Albuquerque Police Department, the unidentified driver was operating a box truck on behalf of Lowe’s around 9:20 a.m. As he approached Double Eagle II Airport along Atrisco Vista, the truck crashed, landing on the driver’s side.

The unidentified driver suffered fatal injuries, although it is unclear whether he died on scene or at a nearby hospital. Paramedics say a passenger broke his arm and was taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital.

The United States Department of Transportation reports that fatal accidents involving semis and other large trucks have fallen from 5,200 in 2005 to 3,200 in 2009.

UPDATE: Police have identified the deceased driver as 35-year-old Sean A. Janson. The injured passenger, meanwhile, is 32-year-old Alfredo Chavez.
