Police say a man from Clovis died Friday in a rollover crash 20 miles northeast of Portales.

The New Mexico State Police reports that 29-year-old Bryian Phillips was a passenger in a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe pickup truck traveling east on U.S. Route 70 when the vehicle overturned around 2 a.m. near Roosevelt Road. Three of the vehicle’s five occupants were ejected. Mr. Phillips was taken by ambulance to Roosevelt General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say 30-year-old Shannon Stonelake of Clovis was taken by helicopter to Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas, with spine and neck injuries. Another Clovis resident, 24-year-old Heather Chretien, also went to Roosevelt General Hospital with injuries that police described as non life-threatening.

Driver Tyrone Phillips, 27, and another passenger, 23-year-old Christopher Phillips, suffered only minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
