Two teenagers died after a pickup crashed on Route A by the James River near Marshfield Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, around 2 p.m, 17-year-old Dara Hensley was driving north on Route A in a Toyota Tundra when for unknown reasons, she left the roadway, hit a guardrail and a bridge support before rolling into the James River.

Rescue personnel arrived on scene to find Dara and her brother, 15-year-old Noah Hensley had been killed on impact.

The crash remains under investigation.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, 152 people were killed and 12,808 were injured in traffic crashes involving young drivers in 2011.
