A woman from Gravois Mills was hurt after a vehicle crash on Highway 65 Sunday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, around  5:45 p.m., 32-year-old Christopher Closterman was driving north on Highway 65 in a Ford F-350 truck when his tire went flat and he started to swerve before  leaving the roadway.

Mr. Closterman was not injured by the accident but his passenger, 24-year-old Heather Johnson suffered some minor injuries. Ms. Johnson declined medical treatment.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there were more than 17,500 fatal single-vehicle accidents in the U.S. in 2007, and since 1991 vehicles are leaving the roadway in a higher percentage of single-vehicle crashes.
