Two people were hurt after a vehicle crash on Highway 63 Tuesday night

According to the Columbia Police Department, around 11:40 p.m., 31-year-old Paul Kay was driving south in a Chevrolet Cruze when for unknown reasons he veered off the roadway ran into an embankment before rolling over.

Mr. Kay and his passenger, 34-year-old Janet Priest were taken University Hospital in serious condition.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation Study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that driver error was the primary cause in 90 percent of major traffic crashes.
