Ash Grove, Missouri – July 20, 2012

Friday, at around 5:30 p.m., a collision between a 2008 Chevrolet Cargo Van and a 2007 Ford F150 occurred in Ash Grove on U.S. Route 160.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol say that Charles W. Denney, 46, from Everton, was driving west on the wrong side of the road when the crash occurred. Gregory P. Brundage, 54, from Brighton, was headed east when he spotted Mr. Denney driving towards him. Both men swerved to avoid one another, but collided in the westbound lane, and skidded off of the road.

Both men were taken to Cox South Hospital to be treated fro their injuries. Their current condition is unknown.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, wrong-way drivers are involved in 1.5 percent of all fatal crashes.
