Lincoln County, Missouri – July 12, 2012

A rear-end collision on Missouri Route EE Thursday afternoon left a Winfield woman injured.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 65-year-old Geraldine A. James suffered moderate injuries in the 3:48 p.m. crash, which occurred at Argent Oaks Drive.

The report says she had slowed in her northbound GMC Envoy, preparing to turn onto Argent Oaks, when the rear of her vehicle was struck by a Pontiac Vibe driven by 19-year-old Richard A. Jansen of Elsberry.

Ms. James was reportedly taken to Lincoln County Medical Center. Mr. Jansen was not listed as injured in the report.

According to the National Safety Council, more than 2.5 million rear-end collisions are reported every year, making them the most common type of automobile accident.
