A passenger car and semi collided on the Blanchette Bridge Wednesday night, leaving a Troy man dead.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 33-year-old James M. Pace died at the scene of the crash, which occurred at 7:25 pm. on westbound Interstate 70 on the bridge when his Volkswagen Passat rear-ended a semi that had stopped for traffic.
The semi was driven by 61-year-old Fargo, North Dakota residnet Jo Ann Meyer, who was not listed as injured in the report.
According to the National Safety Council, more than 2.5 million rear-end collisions are reported every year, making them the most common type of automobile accident.
