A Missouri congresswoman was injured over the weekend in a horseback riding accident.
According to a statemen issued by her office, 41-year-old Democratic Congresswoman Linda Black, a resident of Bonne Terre, was injured sometime between May 18 and May 20 when she was thrown from a horse in Jefferson City.
Ms. Black suffered a broken back in the accident, according to the statement.
A 2002 British study into injuries related to horseback riding found there 64,693 reported injuries in 1998.
