Jefferson County, Missouri — May 12, 2012

Two women suffered moderate injuries in a Saturday afternoon crash on Old Missouri Route 21 in Fenton, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Beverly J. Lenz, 54, of Imperial, and 56-year-old Eureka Springs, Arkansas resident Cheryl A. Moppin were taken to St. Anthony’s Medical Center for treatment after the vehicle in which they were passengers collided with another at Konert Road, the report says.

The crash occurred at 3:10 p.m. when 20-year-old Fenton resident Nicholas A. Kelly was making a left turn and pulled into the path of a second driver, 54-year-old Dean G. Lenz of Imperial, according to the report. When Mr. Lenz hit the brakes on his vehicle, the car reportedly slid into Mr. Kelly’s pickup truck.

No one else was listed in the report as injured.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 37,786 traffic accidents in 2009 resulted in death or personal injury.
