Vernon County, Missouri – May 12, 2012
A man from Rogers, Arkansas was killed in an apparent hit-and-run early Saturday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 22-year-old James A. Besaw was hit on South 1400 Road, a mile west of Nevada, at 3:50 a.m. He was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene.
No vehicle or driver information is included in the report because troopers say the driver left the scene.
The Missouri Department of Transportation reports a total of 59 persons were killed and 1,352 were injured in traffic crashes involving a pedestrian in 2010.
