Boone County, Missouri — February 15, 2012

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 55-year-old man from Rothville was killed after being involved in a motor-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon.

According to reports, the man who died was Stanton Garr. Police say he was traveling west through the crossing of U.S. 63 and Calvert Hill Road when his Ford Ranger reportedly failed to yield for a southbound semi.

The driver of the semi has been identified as Marvin W. Loftis, 54, of Hallsville, who was taken to Boone Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He was apparently unable to avoid driving into the side of Mr. Garr’s Ranger.

Emergency personnel say Mr. Garr was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
