Montgomery County, Missouri – November 26, 2011

A rollover accident on Interstate 70 Saturday morning left four Jefferson City resident injured.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Amanda T. Wagner, 27, of Jefferson City was driving a 2001 Dodge east on Interstate 70 when she came upon congested traffic. About 10:45 a.m. the Dodge went off the left side of the road and rolled near mile marker 167.

Jefferson City residents 30-year-old Nicholas R. Wagner, 27-year-old Eric L. Wehnes and 25-year-old Jamie L. Motes were in the vehicle with Ms. Wagner. Mr. Wagner and Ms. Wagner suffered moderate injuries as a result of the accident and were taken to the University of Missouri Hospital. Mr. Wehnes and Ms. Motes sustained minor injuries and intended to seek their own medical attention.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration‘s National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation Study found that driver error was the primary cause of 90 percent of major traffic crashes.
