Osage County, Missouri - July 27, 2011
A teenage girl was injured Wednesday evening when the vehicle she was riding in crashed off the side of the road.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kevin M. Backes, 20, of Linn drove a 2001 Ford north on Missouri Route Y. At County Road 722 Mr. Backes did not properly negotiate a curve and ran off the right side of the road. About 6:45 p.m. the Ford crashed into a ditch.
Cheyenne J. Klebba, 15, was in the vehicle with Mr. Backes. She suffered minor injuries and was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital.
The exact location of this accident has not been released.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, drivers under 21 were involved in 9,691 personal injury accidents in 2009. A total of 14,904 people were injured in those crashes.
