Johnson County, Missouri – July 25, 2011

Three men from Warrensburg were hurt when their vehicle overturned on County Road Southeast 250 Monday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Derek S. Williams drove a 2002 Ford west on County Road Southeast 250. Just east of County Road Southeast 101 the vehicle went off road and hit an embankment causing the vehicle to roll about 3:15 p.m.

There were two passengers in the vehicle with Mr. Williams. Corey J. Smith-Crowe, 19, and Courtney S. Casper, 20, as well as, Mr. Williams suffered minor injuries. Mr. Smith-Crowe and Mr. Williams were taken to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment. Mr. Casper refused treatment.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, drivers under 21 were involved in 9,691 personal injury accidents in 2009. A total of 14,904 people were injured in those crashes.
