Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri – July 24, 2011

Two women from Macomb, Illinois, went to the Hospital after the vehicle they were in went off the road and crashed into a ditch Sunday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, 25-year-old Stacy A. McKinley drove a 2004 Buick Rendezvous south on Interstate 55 about two miles north of Missouri Route 32. The vehicle went off the right side of the road about 4:10 p.m. and crashed into a ditch.

Ms. McKinley and her passenger 29-year-old Danielle E. McKinley suffered moderate injuries. Both women were transported to Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital for medical attention.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration‘s National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation Study found that driver error was the primary cause of 90 percent of major traffic crashes.
