Pulaski County, Missouri – July 24, 2011
A teenage driver lost control of his vehicle and went off the road Sunday evening. His passenger was injured.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 17-year-old Richland resident Dalton F. Click drove a 2007 Pontiac G6 east on Interstate 44. At mile marker 159 he lost control of the vehicle and went off the right side of the road. The car then hit a dirt embankment and flipped about 6:55 p.m.
Dalton was not injured. Tiana M. Reyes, 17, of Richland was in the vehicle with Dalton. She suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Phelps County Regional Medical Center for treatment.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, drivers under 21 were involved in 9,691 personal injury accidents in 2009. A total of 14,904 people were injured in those crashes.
