Jasper County, Missouri – July 18, 2011
A woman from Carl Junction was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash at Missouri Route 171 and Fir Road Monday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Randall W. Miller, 27, of Joplin drove a 1995 Chevrolet Beretta north on Missouri Route 171. At the intersection with Fir Road Mr. Miller turned left into the path of a southbound 2011 Kia Soul driven by 52-year-old Brenda G. Myers. About 2:30 p.m. the two collided.
Ms. Myers suffered minor injuries and was taken to Freeman West Hospital for medical attention.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration‘s National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation Study found that driver error was the primary cause of 90 percent of major traffic crashes.
