A man and a woman from Sparta were injured when their vehicle was run off the side of the road Tuesday night.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, Brandon R. Keeler, 17, of Sparta drove a 1991 Buick west on Missouri Route 14 east of Ozark. About 8 p.m. Brandon turned and hit the side of a 1999 Mitsubishi driven by 22-year-old Sparta resident Dustin L. Elliott. The Mitsubishi went off the side of the road, crashed into a ditch and rolled.
Mr. Elliot and his passenger Brandi N. Elliott, 23, of Sparta were transported with moderate injuries to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, drivers under 21 were involved in 9,691 personal injury accidents in 2009. A total of 14,904 people were injured in those crashes.
