Dunklin County, Missouri – July 19, 2011

A two-vehicle collision Tuesday morning sent to women to the hospital with moderate injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, 36-year-old Mexico resident Estela G. Granadus drove a 2001 Ford Explorer south. About 6:35 a.m. she pulled into the path of Jeremy K. Hauptman, 32, of Senath in a 2001 Dodge Ram traveling west. At U.S. Route 412 the Ford crashed into the passenger side of the Dodge.

Ms. Granadus and her passenger Maria c. Moncada, 47, of Mexico suffered moderate injuries. Both were transported to Twin Rivers Medical Center in Kennett.

The exact location of this accident has not been released.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration‘s National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation Study found that driver error was the primary cause of 90 percent of major traffic crashes.
