Linn County, Missouri – July 19, 2011
Four teenagers were injured, two seriously, in an off-road crash on Missouri Route 11 early Tuesday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, 19-year-old Marceline resident Dustin W. Cashatt drove a 2000 Ford south on Missouri Route 11 two miles north of New Boston. Mr. Cashatt lost control of the vehicle about 12:30 a.m. and it strayed off the right side of the road. The Ford crashed into a drainage ditch and flipped trapping passenger 19-year-old Ethan C. Molloy of Bucklin in the vehicle.
Mr. Cashatt suffered minor injuries and was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield. Kristopher C. Inacio, 17, of New Boston suffered moderate injuries and was also taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Molloy and James G. Thomas, 18, of Brookfield suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to University of Missouri Hospital.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, drivers under 21 were involved in 9,691 personal injury accidents in 2009. A total of 14,904 people were injured in those crashes.
