Laclede County, Missouri – July 18, 2011
A crash on Interstate 44 seriously injures one driver Monday night.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 19-year-old Buffalo resident Deidre L. Crow drove a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser east on Interstate 44 two miles east of Phillipsburg. About 9:15 p.m. Ms. Crow veered to avoid hitting a deer in her path. The vehicle slid off the right side of the road, struck a group of rocks and flipped.
Ms. Crow suffered serious injuries, Lebanon resident 19-year-old Brandon M. Williams, her passenger, suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to St. John’s Hospital in Lebanon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that younger drivers were involved in 36,901 reported crashes in 2009.
