Taney County, Missouri – June 29, 2011

Two women were injured in a collision caused by a dog in the road Wednesday night.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Dee A. Coe, 56, of Kissee Mills slowed down her 2009 Hyundai Accent on Missouri Route 160 for a dog that had made its way onto the road. The Hyundai was impacted from behind about 9:40 p.m. by a 1997 Buick LeSabre driven by Shane M. Tilley, 35, of Kissee Mills.

Ms. Coe and her passenger 63-year-old Dorothy E. Lear of Kissee Mills were taken to Skaggs Regional Medical Center in Branson for the treatment of minor injuries. Mr. Tilley was not injured in the accident.

Both vehicles incurred extensive damages and were towed from the scene.

The exact location of this accident has not been released.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that older drivers were involved in 42,460 reported crashes in 2009.
