St. Charles County, Missouri – June 28, 2011
Latisha M. Brown, 35, was injured when her vehicle was rear-ended Tuesday evening.
Ms. Brown of St. Charles stopped her 2005 Chevrolet Impala for slowing traffic ahead. A 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 19-year-old Justin M. Hellman of St. Ann drove behind Ms. Brown on U.S. Route 24, but did not stop when Ms. Brown stopped ahead of him. The Trailblazer smashed into the backend of the Impala just after 6 p.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Ms. Brown was transported to SSM St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles for the treatment of minor injuries. Mr. Hellman was not injured in the collision.
The Impala incurred moderate damages. The Trailblazer incurred minor damages.
The exact location of this accident has not been released.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, drivers under 21 were involved in 9,691 personal injury accidents in 2009. A total of 14,904 people were injured in those crashes.
