A head-on collision on County Road EE sent three people to the hospital Sunday morning.
About 7:10 a.m. a 2002 Nissan Sentra driven by 16-year-old Jared C. Buchele from Southwest City swerved into oncoming traffic on County Road EE. He collided head-on with a 2001 Ford F-250 driven by Bella Vista, Arkansas, resident Michael M. Allen, 57, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Mr. Allen and his passenger Debbie R. Allen, 40, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, both suffered minor injuries and were transported to Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Jared was transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin for the treatment of moderate injuries he suffered.
The Nissan Sentra was a total loss in the crash. The Ford F-250 incurred extensive damages.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that younger drivers were involved in 36,901 reported crashes in 2009.
