Ralls County, Missouri – June 26, 2011
A right turn went wrong when one car crashed into another sending one driver to the hospital in serious condition Sunday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, about 4:30 p.m. a 2007 Ford Focus driven by a Leandra M. Paotchek, 19, of Nixa attempted to turn right when the rear door on her right side was struck by a 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo on Missouri Route J. The Monte Carlo was driven by 60-year-old Quincy, Illinois, resident Daniel J. Grower.
Mr. Grower was airlifted to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois, for the treatment of serious injuries he suffered.
Ms. Patochek was not injured in the crash.
The exact location of this accident has not been released.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that younger drivers were involved in 36,901 reported crashes in 2009.
