Pennfield Township, Michigan — February 6, 2011

A Calhoun County wreck injured four–one critically–Sunday night on M-66 by Huntington Road, deputies report.

Bellevue resident Michael Washington and a passenger–18-year-old Kimberly Washington–were traveling on M-66, when Mr. Washington was unable to maintain control of the vehicle on the slick surface of the ice-covered roadway, according to reports.

As a result, the vehicle crossed the middle of the road and collided with another vehicle, seriously injuring Ms. Washington, investigators said. Mr. Washington and the driver of the other vehicle–Battle Creek resident Gordon McAllister–were listed in stable condition Monday. Mr. McAllister’s passenger did not suffer serious injuries.

The sheriff’s department continues its investigation, deputies report.
