Negaunee, Michigan – July 22, 2010
Alger County Sheriffs believe that 49-year-old Gregory Scheiding may have fallen asleep at the wheel last Thursday in an accident that left him with fatal injuries.
According to the official report, Mr. Scheiding was traveling west on Alger County Highway 58 when his pick-up truck left the roadway and struck multiple trees.
Rescue personnel responded to the scene of the accident and removed Mr. Scheiding from his truck and were en route to the hospital when he passed away due to unspecified traumatic injuries.
Michigan State Police have assigned one of their accident reconstructionists to the incident to fully understand what may have happened.
No other vehicles were involved int he accident.
