Detroit, Michigan — July 9, 2010 — A cross-over accident on the west side of Detroit has killed one man and left another driver hospitalized.

According to Detroit Police, the driver (an unidentified man from Detroit) responsible for the accident was traveling near Fenkell and Cheyenne near 11:45 Friday night when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck another vehicle, causing him to then careen into a pole. 

Unfortunately, after the man’s car struck the pole, his vehicle caught fire.  Officials were not releasing the man’s name until next of kin could be notified.

The other driver did not suffer injuries that were believed to be life-threatening.  Theyt were takn to a local hospital where their condition remained unknown.
