Eaton Township, Michigan — July 10, 2010 — A head-on collision has claimed the lives of three people.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., Saturday night, Michigan State Police responded to a report of a crash on M-21, east of Bellamy Road, involving two cars.  Upon arrival, they found 57-year-old Lester Mahlich, 69-year-old John Keifner, and his wife, 56-year-old Ruth Keifner all unresponsive at the scene of the accident.

It was determined that Mr. Mahlich, of Ionia, was headed west on M-21 when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck the car carrying Mr & Mrs. Keifner.  The Keifner’s had been traveling east on M-21.

Officials confirmed that all three accident victims died at the scene.
