Police say at least one traveler was injured Wednesday during a three-car accident in the Gorham area.

According to officers with the Gorham Police Department, an unidentified motorist was behind the wheel of a vehicle as it traveled toward Standish around 6:45 a.m. As the driver approached the corner of Dingley Spring Road and Maine State Route 25 (Ossipee Trail), he was involved in a collision.

Investigators say the two other vehicles also became involved. Paramedics responded to the scene and treated one subject for injury. No names or vehicle descriptions have been released.

The Maine Bureau of Highway Safety reports that travelers sustained serious injury in 978 accidents in 2007.
