Lincoln County, Maine – June 15, 2012

Two motorists escaped serious injury after a two vehicle collision on Cooper Road Friday.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, 69-year-old James Silin of Whitefield was traveling southbound in his 2001 Chrysler Town and Country minivan when he failed to yield and rear-ended the 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by 86-year-old Charles Miller also of Whitefield.

It is unclear if Mr. Silin or Mr. Miller sustained any minor injuries. No one else was involved in the crash.

Officials are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of this incident.

The National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation Study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that driver error was the primary cause in 90 percent of major traffic crashes.
