Lincoln County, Maine – June 15, 2012

A motorist escaped serious injury after crashing his vehicle into a ditch off Bog Road Thursday.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Dylan R. Holt of Pittston was traveling in his 1999 Oldsmobile when he lost control for unknown reasons and crossed into oncoming traffic. In attempting to correct his vehicle. Mr. Holt crossed the roadway again and crashed into a ditch.

It is unclear if Mr. Holt sustained any minor injuries. No one else was involved in the crash.

Officials are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of this incident.

The National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation Study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that driver error was the primary cause in 90 percent of major traffic crashes.
