Scarborough, Maine – May 8, 2012

Two people were injured and hospitalized after a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Beech Ridge Road and Holmes Road Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Scarborough Police Department, Julia Jacobson-Maloney, 51, crashed her Honda Accord into the Chevrolet Suburban driven by Erron Pennell, 32, around 3:10 p.m. Ms. Jacobson-Maloney was unconscious with life-threatening injuries when paramedics arrived on the scene. Ms. Pennell suffered minor injuries.

Both victims were transported to Maine Medical Center where Ms. Pennell was treated and released. Officers are still investigating the cause of this incident.

The Maine Bureau of Highway Safety reports that travelers sustained serious injury in 978 accidents in 2007.
