Saco, Maine — November 15, 2011

A Biddeford man was seriously injured Tuesday evening in collision involving a minibike.

According to the Saco Police Department, 21-year-old Biddeford resident Alex Paul was driving a minibike on Willey Road when he collided head-on with 24-year-old Biddeford resident Brandon Williams in a 1996 Volkswagen Jetta. The 6:45 p.m. collision ejected Mr. Paul from his vehicle before he crashed into the windshield of the Volkswagen.

Mr. Paul was transported to Maine Medical Center for medical attention to serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The Maine Bureau of Highway Safety reports that 21 motorcyclists were killed in 648 crashes in 2007.
