Police say a person was injured after two vehicles collided near Main Street and 24th Street Monday afternoon.

According to Great Bend Police Department, around 3:03  p.m., Justin Merrit was traveling north on Main when a vehicle driven by Victor Parsell reportedly ran a red light and the vehicles collided. It is unknown how many victims were involved or how extensive their injuries were.   At least one victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

It is unknown how much vehicle damage was caused by this accident.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation Study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that driver error was the primary cause in 90 percent of major traffic crashes.
