Wayne County, Indiana – August 14, 2013
Police say a teenage passenger was injured Wednesday during an accident in the Richmond area.
According to deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, 41-year-old Centerville resident Melissa Bobbitt was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Cavalier as it traveled west along Endsley Road. As Ms. Bobbitt approached U.S. Route 27, around 8:40 p.m., she made contact with a southbound Honda Accord, driven by 51-year-old Brownsville resident Barbara Goodwin.
Investigators say the impact left a passenger, 14-year-old Centerville resident Samuel Croucher, pinned in the wreckage. Once free, paramedics airlifted Samuel to Dayton, Ohio’s Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.
Ms. Bobbitt, meanwhile, was taken to Reid Hospital. Ms. Goodwin escaped unhurt.
