Posey County, Indiana — June 3, 2013

Police say a teenage motorist died Monday when his sport-utility vehicle flipped near Mount Vernon.

Deputies with the Posey County Sheriff’s Department report that 15-year-old Mount Vernon resident Cole Russell was behind the wheel of a Jeep SUV as it traveled along Cox Road. Around 6:55 p.m., Cole apparently lost control of the vehicle on a dirt road, causing it to flip.

The impact left him pinned in the wreckage. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported Cole to a hospital in the Evansville area, but doctors were unable to save him.
