Jackson County, Indiana – May 3, 2013

Police believe a female motorist failed to heed a stop sign Friday in Dudleyville, injuring herself and two passengers.

According to deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, 22-year-old Crothersville resident Morgan M. McIntosh was behind the wheel of a dark-colored Chevrolet pickup truck as it traveled south along Indiana 11. Investigators say Ms. McIntosh entered the intersection with Indiana 250 against a stop sign.

The pickup made contact with a nearby utility pole. Paramedics responded to the scene and treated Ms. McIntosh and two passengers for undisclosed injuries.

The National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation Study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found driver error was the primary cause in 90 percent of major traffic crashes.
