Madison County, Indiana – March 11, 2013

Police say a female traveler was injured Monday during an accident in the Anderson area.

According to officers with the Anderson Police Department, 48-year-old Markleville resident Teresa Gossar was behind the wheel of a GMC Sonoma pickup truck as it traveled south along Madison Avenue. As Ms. Gossar approached Sixth Street, around 8:55 p.m., she was hit by an eastbound Honda Del Sol, operated by 17-year-old Jordan Dykstra.

Investigators say the impact caused the pickup to tip onto its side. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported Ms. Gossar to Community Hospital for treatment.

Reports indicate that 12-year-old pedestrian Adrien Busby was crossing the street nearby and distracted Jordan. Impact Teen Drivers was formed in 2008 to stop reckless and distracted driving among teens. In its mission as an advocate for the victims of traffic accidents, FindMyAccident has partnered with Impact Teen Drivers to protect young drivers in Indiana and across the United States.
