Allen County, Indiana — November 13, 2012

At least one person was injured Tuesday morning when two vehicles collided at a Fort Wayne intersection.

The Fort Wayne Police Department reports the accident occurred around 8:23 a.m. when an eastbound Honda allegedly ran through a stop light and hit a southbound Pontiac at the intersection of South Clinton Street and East Wayne Street.

Police say the unidentified driver of the Honda was injured in the crash and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. No one else was injured in the accident, according to the report.

According to a report from the Indiana State Police, there were 188,132 traffic accidents resulting in injuries and/or property damage in 2011, and 674 accidents resulted in 749 total fatalities during that year.
