Merriam, Indiana – June 7, 2012

A two car crash caused injuries this morning on Indiana 9. A native of Albion, 73-year-old Thomas Rekenberger, was waiting to turn from Indiana 9 onto County Road 400 South when he was hit from behind by a 1994 Oldsmobile.

The driver of the Oldsmobile was Terri Lynn Platt, a 36-year-old resident of Albion. Despite wearing her seat belt, and her airbags deploying, she still suffered some internal injuries and also hurt her neck and head. She was transported to a hospital in Fort Wayne. She received citations for operating without proof of financial responsibility, and driving too closely.

Mr. Rekenberger suffered no injuries.
