The Franklin Police Department investigated an accident that caused severe injuries to Jason Andrews, 15, on Monday. The accident occurred when Jason was walking along the railroad tracks near the Franklin College campus while listening to music.

The engineer on the train blew a whistle in warning, but Jason did not react until the last instant when he attempted to jump off the tracks. Police say he sustained a severe head injury in the accident. He is being treated at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis
