The Anderson Police Department investigated an accident with injuries at the intersection of Central Avenue and 12th Street. The accident happened at 11:54 a.m. when David Rees, 65, was arriving at the Anderson Public Library in his 2004 Buick LeSabre.

Michael Randle, 22, was driving a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville when both drivers attempted to pull into the same parking spot. Mr. Randle complained of shoulder injuries in the crash. Mr. Rees did not complain of any injuries.

According to the National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation Study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, driver error is responsible for more than 90 percent of serious traffic accidents.
