Zionsville, Indiana — February 16, 2012

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department reported that U.S. Route 421, known locally as Michigan Road, was closed for a brief period on Thursday north of Willow Road due to a two- car accident. The accident occurred around 2 p.m. and paramedics were on the scene.

There were no names released with this accident, but there were multiple injuries reported. The severity of those injuries has not been released. No one was in need of helicopter transport to a local hospital.

According to the National Motor Vehicle Crash Causation Study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, driver error is responsible for more than 90 percent of serious traffic accidents.
